About ShenZhen

Shenzhen (Chinese: 深圳) is located in the southern portion of the Guangdong Province, on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Delta. Neighboring the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Shenzhen’s location gives it a geographical advantage for economic development. In 1980, the first Special Economic Zone of China was built in this city. From then on, the city become a highlight of China, one known for its rapid economic growth. Up to 2016, Shenzhen has a population of  11.91 million. While the city does not have as many historical attractions as other famous cities in China, it has created a number of excellent theme parks which entertain while teaching visitors about China and the world.

 

ATTRACTIONS

Window of the World, Shenzhen

Shenzhen Window of the World is a fantastic replica park situated at the Overseas Chinese Town. Here you can see vivid replicas of the world’s wonders, historical heritages and famous scenic sites. The entire masterpiece is built at ratios of 1:1, 1:5 or 1:15.


 

Overseas Chinese Town East (OCT East)

Overseas Chinese Town East (OCT East) is a large ecological resort brimming with a natural landscape, small towns of western and oriental styles, and entertainment facilities. It has three themed parks: Knight Valley, Tea Stream Valley, and Wind Valley. You can also pay homage to Buddhist statues at Huaxing Temple. There are also wonderful performances played in the resort every day. The most famous ones are Heavenly Zen, a dancing performance revealing the Chinese tea culture, and Roaring Flood, a live-action stunt show.


 

Splendid China – Folk Culture Villages

Splendid China – Folk Culture Villages was formerly two scenic spots in Overseas China Town by Shenzhen Bay, and was integrated as one in 2003. It is the world’s largest and most comprehensive miniature park, reproducing nearly 100 famous tourist attractions in China and 25 full-scale ethnic villages. There, one can have a thorough lesson on the 5,000 years of Chinese history and appreciate beautiful landscapes from throughout the country in one day.


 

Dameisha & Xiaomeisha Scenic Area

Dameisha and Xiaomeisha are two beaches which form the coastal scenic area on the shore of Dapeng Bay in Yantian District of Shenzhen City. This scenic area has been a popular place where people have been happy since ancient times. Nowadays guesthouses, hotels, villas and camping houses can be found along the seashore offering tourists somewhere to relax and enjoy the beautiful seaside scenery.


 

Meridian View Center

Meridian View Center, the window of Shenzhen, is located on the 69th floor of the Diwang Mansion (Shun Hing Square). With a height of about 384 meters (1,260 feet), this building is the second highest one in Shenzhen and can be divided into three parts: the Office Area, the Shopping Area and the Business Apartments.
